Small Silver Ball Dec.14, 2013 It is with the greatest pleasure that the New York Brotherhood of the Coast announces the election of Brother # 28 Jungle Jane aka Jane Protzman to be the Captain of its great Table. We are confident that with her extensive experience Captain JJ will do us proud in leading us into new voyages of prosperity. The New York Table would like to take this opportunity to thank Captain Big Hopper aka Robert Coles for his years of service in maintaining a healthy and vibrant Table.

Small Silver Ball Dec.11, 2013 It is with great sadness that I announce to my Brothers that Charles (Slow Goose) Fine has embarked on his final sail to the Eternal Sea. Charles was an enthusiastic Brother, past Captain of the NY Table and Sage for the US Brotherhood. He recently received the "For The Merit" award from US Captain Charlie Hankins, which is the highest award for outstanding contributions to the US Brotherhood. Charles always had a ready smile and his home was open to all Brothers who needed a bunk. Charles' Captive Ina was as enthusiastic as Charles in hosting visiting Brothers and support for the Brotherhood.

Small Silver Ball 07/22/2012: Steve Donaldson loved boating and took great pride in helping to construct his own 50’ bay built boat, the “Miss Lori” in Solomons. He was an avid fisherman, obtaining his Charter Captain License in the mid-nineties, and was an active member of the Solomons Yacht Club for many years.

Small Silver Ball January 26 ,2011:Erika (Eberhardt)Anderson ex-chef S/y Astral, under Capt. Tony Perry, and ex-chef S/Y Tigris, under Capt. Richard Le Cayne?(spelling), sailed over the bar last night at midnight. The angels took her from her pain at 55 years young. Leaves behind a wonderful husband, Paul Anderson, her father John Eberhardt and brother John. Jon is a "lion" of the Brotherhood in Europe who weathered through the loss of his wonderful wife Brenda and now his daughter Erika to a terrible disease. Jungle Jane has put together a set of photos and memories of the years she has known Erika., She and Scott Smith stayed with the Eberhardts in 1985 after a Zaff on the Isle of Wright and has remained in touch with the family ever since, and then with Paul in later years. We all have very fond memories of attending Erika and Paul's wedding aboard ship during the Chilean Zaf. We all send our condolences to Jon and Paul.

Small Silver Ball Sam Britton sails away. Sam was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer almost three years ago, and had wrestled with that disease until his passing. Most will agree that Sam was the embodiment of the Brotherhood of the Coast. He was former Captain of the Sun Coast table, and served as National BOC Captain from 1998 to 2002. During the four years of his national captaincy, Sam visited many BOC “ports” all over the world, and always represented the USA Tables with wonderful professionalism and sincerity. He made many BOC acquaintances, and all who had the pleasure to know Sam respected his wisdom, insight, intelligence and friendship.Sam was 80 at the time of his passing
